Starlight Archer 1000 Review

Pragmatic Play released Starlight Archer 1000 in November 2025. The screen is quite busy from the start: five reels, six rows and an archer standing off to one side, with gems and fantasy creatures taking up most of the grid.

There aren't any paylines here. Eight matching symbols anywhere on the screen are enough for a win, and you can get paid for as many as 30. The purple dragon is the best regular symbol. Twelve or more of them pay 1,000x the base bet, while the other creatures sit below it and the coloured gems make up the cheaper end of the paytable.

A win doesn't necessarily mean the spin is finished. The symbols involved disappear and another set drops into the spaces they leave behind. I had sequences where this stopped immediately and others where the grid cleared several times. There's no fixed limit on how long the Tumbles can continue.

Then you start seeing Multiplier symbols mixed in. The smallest Multiplier is 2x. At the other end, there's a 1,000x. More than one can land during the same sequence too. Their values are added together before the final multiplier is applied to what you've won from those Tumbles.

The archer herself is the Scatter. Four or more of her symbols take you into 15 Free Spins, which is where the multipliers become more useful. Instead of starting over each time, multipliers from winning spins are added to a running Total Multiplier. Three more Scatter symbols during the bonus give you another five spins.

You don't necessarily have to wait for four Scatter symbols. Ante Bet costs more per spin but doubles the chance of reaching Free Spins, while Buy Free Spins opens the bonus for 100x the current bet. Turning on Ante Bet removes the buy option.

Starlight Archer 1000 has high volatility and an RTP of 96.50%. Buy Free Spins changes that figure very slightly to 96.49%. The 15,000x cap is also worth keeping in mind: once a round reaches it, the game stops there and pays the maximum.

Tumbles and multipliers do most of the work in Starlight Archer 1000. You can see both in the base game, while Free Spins give the multipliers somewhere to build instead of starting from scratch each time.

Tumble Feature

Get a win and the symbols that made it disappear. Everything left on the grid drops down, the gaps are filled from above and the game checks the new screen.

Another win means another Tumble. This can carry on without a set limit and only stops when the next drop has nothing to pay.

All the wins made along the way are part of the same sequence.

Multiplier Symbols

Multiplier symbols can show up before or during the Tumbles. Some Multipliers are only 2x or 3x. Others can be worth 100x, 500x or even 1,000x. More can appear as the Tumbles continue. In that case, the game adds them together. So, 10x and 25x would give you a 35x multiplier on the win.

Free Spins and Total Multiplier

Four Scatter symbols are enough to get into Free Spins, and you start with 15.

This is where I found the multipliers more interesting. If one appears on a winning spin, its value is added to the Total Multiplier. It stays there for the rest of the bonus, so another qualifying multiplier later can push the number higher again.

There's a way to get more time as well. Three Scatter symbols during the bonus add five more Free Spins.

Ante Bet

Ante Bet moves the bet multiplier from 20x to 25x. More Scatters are then used on the reels, doubling the chance of landing Free Spins naturally.

There's a trade-off: Buy Free Spins disappears while Ante Bet is switched on. The RTP stays at 96.50%.

Starlight Archer 1000 goes for a colourful fantasy setting, with the archer standing beside the grid while the action plays out. She has the pointed ears and armour of an elf, with a bow in hand and a bright forest landscape behind her.

The symbols are split between gems and fantasy creatures. The gems are fairly simple, while the higher-paying symbols have much more detail. There are dragons and other colourful creatures, with the purple dragon sitting at the top of the regular paytable.

I liked the background more than I expected. There's a lot of green around the reels, with trees, mountains and sunlight coming through behind them. Once the Tumbles get going, symbols keep dropping into the grid and the screen becomes much more animated. The soundtrack stays in the same fantasy style, without getting in the way of the game.

Our Verdict

I had more fun with Starlight Archer 1000 once the Tumbles started chaining together. One win on its own isn't particularly exciting here. It's when the symbols drop again, another win appears and a Multiplier joins in that the game starts to pick up.

There's a lot here that reminded me of Starlight Princess 1000. The 5x6 grid is the same, as are the Tumbles and Multipliers of up to 1,000x. Free Spins also keep the Total Multiplier from one spin to the next. The biggest change is what you see around those mechanics, with the archer, dragons and forest replacing the Princess setting.

I preferred the bonus to the base game. Building the Total Multiplier gives you something to follow across the 15 spins, and landing extra Scatters can buy you a little more time. The game is highly volatile, though, so not every session will give those features much room to develop.
