Our Verdict

I have to say that Egypt Fire 2 is very similar to the original Egypt Fire. The backdrop has changed to the more spacious outdoor setting of the Giza Plateau, featuring the iconic pyramids partly in view. It’s somewhat of an odd choice compared to many similar ancient Egypt-themed games, but it works better than the cramped background in the first game. The soundtrack has not changed, and the repetitive drums, while untypical for this genre, are quite enjoyable.

The pace of the game is excellent, giving you 3 spin speed options to choose from. Even without the turbo switched on, the pace is not too sluggish, but I prefer to max out the turbo myself. The symbols are carried over from the original game, so nothing much has changed there, and the jackpots are still stacked up on the left with an added fiery scarab above the game logo instead of a brazier.

The symbol values are a tad lower than in the first game, though, which is probably due to the added Power Feature that’s the main innovation of this release. The high-value wild symbol still tends to land in stacks, which is helpful, but the free spins feature feels as superfluous in Egypt Fire 2 as it did in the original game. Sure, you get only premium symbols this time as well, but it would’ve been better to concentrate the returns in the bonus game instead, as that’s where the real payouts are most likely anyway.

In Egypt Fire, the bonus game was all about row unlocking and collecting jackpot tokens to unlock jackpots. In Egypt Fire 2, you still get to unlock rows, and you can win the same jackpots from single jackpot symbols. The power symbol triggering the Power Feature is the game changer, as it can add a massive bounty at the end of the regular bonus game. Overall, I prefer Egypt Fire 2 over the original game, although the 10,000x max win remains the same.
