Coin Strike XXL: Multicoin Review

Coin Strike XXL: Multicoin arrived on 27 August 2026 and comes from Playson. It's part of the Coin Strike series, which also includes Coin Strike: Hold and Win. This release adds the MULTICOIN mechanic added to the formula. You get five reels, three rows and 15 fixed paylines.

The symbol set is a familiar one. Cherries, lemons, oranges, plums, grapes and watermelon cover the fruit side, while bells and BARs pay more. There's a red 7 Wild as well. It replaces the usual symbols but not Coins, Strike Coins or MULTICOIN Symbols. Get three Wilds and the payout is 30x the bet. Even the music has that familiar fruit-machine feel rather than anything particularly elaborate.

Coin Strike XXL: Multicoin Reels Screen

The unusual bit is how the reels are divided up. Coins only turn up on reels 1 and 3. Their values aren't huge on their own, starting at 1x and going through 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x and 6x to 8x. I soon found myself paying more attention to the gap between them, though. Reel 2 is the only home of the Strike Coin and MULTICOIN.

Get a Strike Coin alongside regular Coins and their values are collected. MULTICOIN does something similar, except there's another step afterwards. The multiplier comes after the Coins have been collected. It can be 2x, 3x, 5x, 7x, 10x, 15x or 20x, with the final value applied to the collected amount.

Four jackpots are mixed into the Coin action. Mini pays 15x, Minor 30x, Major 100x and Grand 1,000x. There's also a Bonus Game played with three respins, plus Pile of Gold, which can suddenly add the symbols needed to get you there.

Playson hasn't stopped at the regular spins either. Double Chance raises the bet to 1.5x, while the 5x Strike Spin puts a Strike Coin or MULTICOIN on every spin. If you want to bypass the normal route altogether, there are two Bonus Buy choices.

Coin Strike XXL: Multicoin has an RTP of 95.64% and high volatility. Bets run from 0.20 to 500, while the maximum win is 7,274x the bet.

Coin Strike XXL: Multicoin Features

Most of the features start with the Coins on reels 1 and 3 and whatever turns up between them on reel 2. MULTICOIN is the big addition here, but the Strike Coin has its own collection feature as well. There are also jackpots, respins and a random shortcut into the Bonus Game.

MULTICOIN Feature

A MULTICOIN Symbol landing together with any Coin starts this feature. It collects every Coin value showing at the time, including Jackpot Coins, before applying a multiplier to the total.

The multiplier can be 2x, 3x, 5x, 7x, 10x, 15x or 20x. MULTICOIN only appears on reel 2. During the Main Game, it can also be added there at random whenever one or more Coins land. Depending on what's already on the reels, this can start the MULTICOIN Feature or take you into the Bonus Game.

MULTICOIN remains active during the Bonus Game, where it can retrigger additional random multipliers.

Collect Feature

Strike Coin also occupies reel 2, but there's no multiplier attached to this one. When it lands together with a Coin, all Coin values showing on the reels are collected. Jackpot Coins count towards the collection as well.

In the Main Game, that money is added to whatever you won from the current spin. The same feature can happen during the Bonus Game, where the collected amount goes into your Total Win instead.

Bonus Game

To get into the Bonus Game, you need Coins on both reel 1 and reel 3, with either a Strike Coin or MULTICOIN sitting between them. The regular fruit symbols disappear once the round begins. From this point, only Coins, Strike Coins and MULTICOIN Symbols can land.

You start with three respins. Every new symbol takes the counter back to three, while Strike Coins and MULTICOIN Symbols stay locked on reel 2 for the rest of the round. Once all three respins are used without a new symbol landing, the Bonus Game ends. The values from the Strike Coins and MULTICOIN Symbols are then added to the Total Win.

Fixed Jackpots

This slot has fixed jackpots. Four jackpots can turn up during the Coin features. They are fixed rather than progressive, so each one has a set value:

• Mini – 15x the bet
• Minor – 30x
• Major – 100x
• Grand – 1,000x

Jackpot Coins appear randomly during the Collect or MULTICOIN Feature. If one gets collected, you receive the prize written on it. A Jackpot Coin caught by MULTICOIN is included in the collection before the multiplier is applied.

Pile of Gold

Pile of Gold can step in during a regular Main Game spin. Any Coin has a chance to trigger it, so there isn't a separate symbol you need to wait for.

When it happens, extra Coins, Strike Coins or MULTICOIN Symbols are added to the grid. The game puts down enough of them to trigger the Bonus Game.

Extra Bets and Buy Bonus

Coin Strike XXL: Multicoin gives you two ways to change the regular spins. Double Chance raises the total bet to 1.5x and doubles your chance of triggering the Bonus Game. Strike Spin is more expensive at 5x the bet. In return, every spin gets either a Strike Coin or MULTICOIN Symbol, and the Bonus Game is three times more likely to trigger.

You can buy the bonus instead. The regular Bonus Game costs 75x the total bet and begins with at least one Strike Coin or MULTICOIN Symbol.

The other choice costs 250x and is specifically the MULTICOIN Bonus Game. Two MULTICOIN Symbols are guaranteed at the start. More MULTICOIN or Strike Coin symbols can still arrive during either of the purchased rounds.

Theme & Graphics

Coin Strike XXL: Multicoin sticks with the classic fruit theme used across the series. The reels are bright and simple, with fruit, BARs, bells and the red 7 Wild. Gold Coins take over much of the screen once the features get going, while the four jackpot values stay visible above the grid.

I found the special symbols easy to tell apart, which helps when several Coins are on screen at once. The Strike Coin has a blue centre, while MULTICOIN uses red and gold with the lightning bolt in the middle. There isn't much going on in the background, and that's probably for the best here. Most of the colour and movement comes from the reels themselves, especially when a collection or multiplier is triggered.

The MULTICOIN mechanic gives this Coin Strike release a bit more to play with, especially once multipliers and Jackpot Coins meet on the reels. There are a few drawbacks as well.

Our Verdict

Coin Strike XXL: Multicoin looks fairly ordinary until the special Coins start landing. The fruit theme isn't doing anything new, and the 15-payline setup is simple. For me, the middle reel is what changes things. Seeing a Coin on either side makes the next Strike Coin or MULTICOIN much more interesting.

MULTICOIN is easily the feature I prefer here. Collecting what's already on screen and then applying a multiplier of up to 20x gives it more weight than the regular Collect Feature. Jackpot Coins can be caught in the same process, and the 1,000x Grand is a nice extra possibility.

The Bonus Game works well with this setup too. Strike Coins and MULTICOIN Symbols stay on reel 2, new symbols bring the respin counter back to three, and there's always the chance of another collection before the round ends. Pile of Gold was another feature I liked, mainly because it can suddenly turn an ordinary Coin spin into the bonus.

I'm less keen on how expensive some of the optional modes are. Strike Spin takes the bet to 5x, while buying the MULTICOIN Bonus Game costs 250x. Thankfully, neither is necessary to see the main mechanics.

Overall, I think Coin Strike XXL: Multicoin does enough with the Coin Strike formula to make this version worth a look. It won't win any prizes for its theme, but the reel-specific Coin setup and MULTICOIN mechanic give the gameplay its own identity. I'd start with the free demo, especially if you haven't played another Coin Strike slot before.
