Our Verdict

Kendoo is hardly delivering groundshaking innovation with the release of Cash Volcano, despite the explosive theme. The simple fruit machine-inspired design is pleasing to the eye, though, and there is certainly a market for these types of games. The 3x3 grid and glossy fruit symbols have that old-school charm, even if you have seen similar things many times before. That being said, I enjoyed my test session mostly because I didn’t have high expectations.

If you’re in the mood for a streamlined cash collect experience, Cash Volcano delivers exactly that, making it stand out from purist classic slots that typically have no features. The crimson backdrop and erupting volcano add a bit of personality to the game, combined with the funky soundtrack and chain-like spin sound. I also like that you can choose from 3 different spin speeds, with the maxed-out turbo being my preference for this game.

I did notice that regular fruit symbol wins did not come along all that often. Instead, you should expect mostly smaller coin collect wins in the base game. In fact, you will be hard pressed to see more than a few regular pay symbol wins over hundreds of spins, or at least that was my experience. Don’t let the cute visuals fool you, as Cash Volcano is definitely more volatile than it looks. While larger payouts are possible in the base game thanks to the jackpot symbols, they are more likely in the bonus round.

The main attraction is a classic Hold & Win feature, except for the fact that only the collect symbols are held. Your main aim is to fill all 3 positions of the middle reel with collect symbols, which triples your winnings each time coin and jackpot coins land. This is easier if you purchase the Ultra Hold & Win Bonus, which, unfortunately, cannot be triggered organically. All in all, Cash Volcano is a decent, albeit unremarkable, addition to the genre. It does exactly what it says on the tin: provides a fiery environment for jackpot hunting and fruit spinning.
