Pros and Cons of All-Star Fishing

Our Verdict

Visually, All-Star Fishing falls in line with many other games in the water world shoot ‘em up genre. The screen is a chaotic spectacle of marine life, with creatures of all shapes and sizes swimming around. The low betting range, starting at €0.01 per bullet, makes sense considering the sheer volume of ammo often needed to take down the larger, more lucrative creatures. Thankfully, smaller payouts are awarded along the way, ensuring a steady stream of top-up wins.

The multiplayer element adds another layer of complexity, as you compete against other players for the same targets. Luckily, the payouts are fairly distributed based on the amount of ammo spent. The option of 3 different game rooms is another thing to note, as you can choose between a newbie-friendly, mid-level, or high-roller room, the latter with a max bet of up to €10 per bullet. We suggest you start in the newbie-friendly room though, which is usually more populated as well.

While the visuals are impressive, with each creature rendered in meticulous detail, the soundtrack left something to be desired. The canned base game tune quickly became repetitive and annoying, forcing me to switch off the music entirely. Unfortunately, this also silenced the game's sound effects, which is an unnecessary drawback. A separate volume control for music and effects would have been a welcome addition, something many games offer.

I must confess that I'm not a huge fan of shoot 'em up games of this kind. The constant barrage of bullets and the chaotic nature of the gameplay are overwhelming and can quickly drain your bankroll if you're not paying attention. Success requires a strategic approach, carefully selecting targets to balance risk and reward. Starting with the lowest bet level and taking advantage of the free play All-Star Fishing demo are crucial steps in getting a feel for the game's mechanics and developing a winning strategy.

Despite my initial reservations, All-Star Fishing managed to hold my attention. The Sea King bosses, with their potential for lucrative and fun bonus games, appear frequently and are surprisingly easy to trigger. I got plenty of bonus action during testing, and the sheer variety of bonus features sets All-Star Fishing apart from many competitors. While the Naga Sea King proved a tougher adversary than the other Sea Kings, it also comes with the potential of cracking the 1,200x win cap.

Ultimately, All-Star Fishing is not a game for players seeking massive, life-changing wins. Instead, it offers an entertaining experience, delivering classic shoot 'em up thrills with a generous helping of bonus features and numerous exciting special weapons. It's certainly one of the more enjoyable entries in this genre that I've encountered, but I still need to relax with some meditative fishing slot like Big Fisherman after any test session with these types of games.
