GONG Gaming takes you to the lush and idyllic countryside of the Emerald Isle, where you get to meet a cheerful Leprechaun and what we assume must be his wife or girlfriend. This is a mood-lifting little charmer of a game, like so many in the popular Irish Luck genre, and one of the characters will be by your side at all times. The cartoonish visuals are well-crafted, and the soundtrack is uplifting as well.

The gameplay isn’t exactly overly complicated, and the base game is mostly about building the ProgressiveX Multiplier. This is done by collecting coins in the Rainbow Meter, and the win multiplier becomes active in the next bonus round. The good news is that it keeps building between bonus rounds until it tops out at x10, and you can win up to 2,000x your stake. The max win is admittedly a bit low for a volatile game, but some will surely find Multi Charm to be worthwhile nonetheless.

The premium symbols pay between 10 and 40 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and the redhead female Wild symbol steps in for any pay symbol to help complete and/or improve line wins. You also win up to 200x your stake from a pure wild win, and this requires 5 wilds on the same payline.

The Golden Coin Scatter comes with an image of the leprechaun and the words “free spins”, and each instance is collected by the Rainbow Meter above the grid. This is how you upgrade the bonus round win multiplier, and the multiplier increases by +1 each time you fill the meter. This is known as the ProgressiveX Multiplier feature, and the multiplier tops out at x10.

The Bonus Round triggers from 3, 4, or 5 scatters in view, and this gives you 10, 20, or 50 free spins, respectively. All wins will be boosted by whatever ProgressiveX Multiplier you have achieved, and you win 2, 5, 10, 20, or 50 extra spins from 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 scatters on the same free spin, respectively. You can retrigger the bonus round indefinitely, and the ProgressiveX multiplier does not reset as you’re taken back to the base game.

Review Summary

It’s always more charming when a female Leprechaun is involved, although no such thing exists according to the Celtic tradition. Multi Charm definitely got the Irish Luck charm going for itself either way, but the gameplay doesn’t offer all that much excitement to be honest. Landing pure wild wins is not easy, but that’s your best shot at landing something decent in the base game. The visual presentation is pleasant enough, but it does come across as a tad archaic and basic.

You’re basically churning along to increase the ProgressiveX Multiplier, and it can take a while to get it all the way to x10. The good news is that it never resets until you get there, and your bonus rounds get progressively more lucrative the more coins you collect. This is at least the theoretical idea that’s supposed to keep players motivated, but the 2,000x max win isn’t really all that impressive in this day and age. Multi Charm is an okay Leprechaun game, but nothing too memorable either.
