Lost Treasure (Wazdan) Review

In the Lost Treasure slot game, Wazdan sends you on an expedition deep into the Mesoamerican jungle, where you’ll join the adventurous explorer in the search of a hidden treasure. A crumbling Mayan temple makes up the backdrop, among lush jungle foliage and mysterious ruby-eyed serpent statues. You start by choosing your preferred bet level, ranging from €0.40 to €5,000 per spin in Lost Treasure. Multiplier Wilds

Our Verdict

Lost Treasure is a good example of Wazdan’s ability to take a classic theme and make it their own in a unique way. The photorealistic visuals combine well with the more cartoonish symbols, and it all comes together nicely to give you a sense of jungle temple mystery and adventure. The rotating Tzolk'in disc and ruby-eyed serpent statues are details that elevate the experience, and I also like that you can choose between 3 spin speed settings.

However, if you max out the turbo, be prepared for lightning-fast spins with no symbol animations and no visible indicator of winning lines. You will barely catch a glimpse of the amount you won as it emerges from below the reels like a soap bubble before it pops. Combined with the autoplay mode, the maxed-out turbo mode is a great way to compress the time between bonus round triggers, as the base game is a bit of a grind without any real features to offer some variance.

The slower game speeds offer a charming retro spin melody, though, and are better choices if you want to relax with this game and savor each spin. You do get wilds that boost any win by x2, so the base game is not completely free from features either. It helps that the symbol values are overall decent, and you can even scroll up to find the “hidden” paytable, which is also accessible by hitting the ‘i’ icon down to the left.

The bonus round comes along regularly, at least in my experience, although the hit rate is not disclosed. Lost Treasure may not be the most advanced gaming experience out there, but it has old-school charm combined with a decent potential.
