We suspect that Pragmatic Play plans to make this into a whole reskin series, not unlike what they’ve done with Gates Of Olympus. The scatter pays system means that you win by landing 8-9 to 12-30 matching symbols anywhere in view, and the latter pays between 1 and 20 x your stake. You don’t get any wild symbols in this game, which is not unusual for the scatter pays genre, but winning symbols are removed and replaced via the Tumble Win feature. We quite enjoyed the original Sword of Ares, and it’s understandable that Pragmatic Play wants to test out this somewhat innovative multiplier concept with different themes. We suspect there will be more reskin jobs after this, and Joker Blast Bonanza comes with a more fun and lighthearted vibe than the more serious Greek mythology predecessor. Still, it’s the exact same game underneath it all, but newcomers may have no idea that the first game even exists.

Reskin jobs aren’t all that exciting for us reviewers, nor for veteran players who keep a keen eye on things, but we didn’t mind a reunion with this multiplier system to be honest. It’s fun to see how many multipliers you can unlock per tumble sequence, and the bomb explosions come in handy to keep you going. Everything is enhanced in the bonus round, of course, but the multiplier still resets between free spins, which can be a downer for some players. The 10,000x potential is solid as before, and Joker Blast Bonanza is way above many other harlequin slots.
