Our Verdict

While expanding the Big Bass concept outside of the fishing slot theme might be a good idea, Gameshow Party game is hardly the way to go. The presentation comes across as superficial and downright cheap, not worthy of a developer as successful and prominent as Reel Kingdom has become thanks to their Big Bass series. It reflects badly not only on them as a developer, but also on the Big Bass series as such.

It's one thing to keep churning out new Big Bass installments, but if you're going to spin off into different themes, at least take the time to make something less half-hearted than this. The splash screen really says it all, with a slick gameshow host that looks about as soulless as the game itself. And seriously, did they hire a kid with playdough to design this host? My phone's AI app can conjure up a more realistic and charming character in seconds.

The base game is a tedious grind with no bonus features, and even the wild symbol is reserved for the bonus round only. This is the case in many Big Bass installments as well, but Reel Kingdom could've used this as an opportunity for experimentation instead of releasing yet another clone. Sure, it's fun to get extra modifiers for the bonus round, not least when you get multiple ones, but I see no viable reason to choose Gameshow Party Reel Kingdom over the original Big Bass Splash. The bonus buy feature has been removed for some reason, and they have not even bothered specifying the Ante Bet benefit with a hit rate.

The bonus round itself is the same as always, with cash collection taking center stage as you hopefully manage to upgrade the win multiplier while keeping yourself going with extra free spins. The 5,000x potential is decent, as is usually the case with these games, but hardly extraordinary. Overall, this release just seems pointless and speculative. However, if you're a huge fan of superficial glitzy gameshows, you now have an alternative to try.
