Fa Chai Gaming delivers a somewhat unusual mix of traditional Asian elements and poultry with Fortune Egg, a slot game focused around silver and golden eggs. The hazy backdrop is only visible on larger screens due to the portrait-mode mobile-first design, but the cherry blossom tree above the reels is visible on all screens. Feature Selection

Silver and golden Egg symbols may appear on the 3 middle reels only, and landing at least 6 of these in view on the same spin triggers the Feature Selection screen. The Fortune Egg Bonus Game is a hold & win-style feature where only blanks, cash, jackpot, and special symbols land, and the triggering eggs are carried over. Our Verdict

Fa Chai Gaming delivers a lighthearted and straightforward Asian-themed slot game experience with Fortune Egg. The presentation is a somewhat strange mix of typical Oriental tropes and chickens together with silver and golden eggs. The good news is that these eggs don’t simply occupy ‘reel estate’ in the base game; they serve as wild symbols that can help deliver wins. In addition, the egg symbols can deliver the bonus round selection screen if you land enough in view, making the eggs the most important symbols in the game.

That said, Fortune Egg is hardly a game aimed at hardcore gamblers. The atmosphere is relaxed thanks to the soothing soundtrack, and Fa Chai Gaming is clearly trying to appeal to the casual crowd with this release. The wild symbol eggs tend to land in stacks and often show up on multiple positions when they appear, helping you secure decent top-up wins in the otherwise uneventful base game. For some reason, I kept landing wins around 7x from these wild eggs, and quite frequently too, but I seldom saw anything above 10x in the base game.

The turbo setting turns off when the bonus round triggers, meaning you cannot speed up pace during the main events. Even hammering the spin button doesn’t help, so restless players may have their patience tested at times. Golden eggs are dropping from the tree above the grid during both bonus rounds, which is a neat touch, and the emblem on the tree trunk turns into your win counter during the titular Fortune Egg bonus game. The question that remains is: which bonus round should you go for?

Although both features have the same price tag, indicating their average value, I much prefer the Fortune Egg feature over the free spins bonus. With so many eggs landing, chances are you’ll get a decent jackpot egg or two, and the multiplier system also boosts prizes as the eggs drop to lower rows. Overall, it’s just a more enjoyable feature that also felt more potent, at least during my test session. Taken for what it is, Fortune Egg is a decent enough release, but hardly all that memorable in the grand scheme of things.
