AK47 Game Review
AK47 may sound like the famous Russian assault rifle, but the only thing you’ll ‘lock and load’ in this Indian poker game is your wild cards. Jili Games’ Teen Patti-inspired release comes with multiple poker rooms, allowing players to choose the stake and risk level that suits them best. If you’ve played online poker before, the felt table design will be familiar, with a smiling dealer at the top of the screen.
The AK47 title is a clever nod to the game’s core mechanic, where the Ace, King, 4, and 7 serve as powerful Wild Cards. Keep your eyes peeled for these when you see your hand, as they can transform it into a winner. You start by selecting your poker room from 5 options, with the minimum entry ranging from 320 to 2,560. Each room also has a unique Pool Limit, determining when the growing pot triggers a Forced Showdown.
After you’ve taken your seat at an AK47 table, each player is dealt 3 face-down cards. You can choose to see your cards immediately or play blind for up to 4 turns. Playing blind doubles the bet size that non-blind players have to place to stay in the round, increasing the pot compared to non-blind play. There are no community cards in AK47, so the 3 cards you’re dealt determine your destiny in the Forced Showdown.
You can, of course, try to bluff or semi-bluff your way to the pot by raising, hoping your opponents fold before the Forced Showdown happens. If the Forced Showdown is triggered by reaching the pot limit, the player with the strongest hand wins. Keep in mind that the House takes a 5% commission from your winnings, but other than that, how much you get away with is all up to luck and your strategic choices.
AK47 Features & How To Play
The AK47 poker game is played with a standard deck of 52 cards and no traditional Jokers in the mix. However, Aces, Kings, 4s, and 7s serve as Wild Cards, turning into whatever card is needed to get the best possible hand. After you have placed your initial bet, the action begins as each player is dealt 3 cards. Betting and raising continue until the pot reaches a Forced Showdown limit, or until only one player has not “packed” (folded).
Packing & Forced Showdown
If all but one player packs, the player who did not pack is automatically declared as the winner without having to reveal their hand. When the pot reaches the stated Forced Showdown limit for the current table you play at, it triggers the Forced Showdown feature. All remaining players who have not packed will then be forced to show their hand. The highest value hand is then declared as the winning hand (see hand values further down).
Payout Rules
The player holding the winning hand gets their original bet back, plus the accumulated pot from the losing hands. However, the House extracts a 5% commission from your total winnings. In cases where multiple players hold an equally ranked hand, a tie is declared. The winning pot is then distributed equally among all winning players, after which a 5% commission is deducted.
Call, Raise, & Playing Blind
After the initial 3 cards are dealt, you can choose to see your cards or pack (fold). If you decide to pack, a new round will start where 3 new cards are dealt. You can also choose to play blind, which means your cards are not revealed. You can play blind for a maximum of 4 turns before your cards are revealed, and you may reveal them at any time before that. Each player may call, raise, or pack (fold) on each turn.
Show & Side Show
If playing blind, the forced showdown will only be triggered when there are 2 remaining players. Players can request a showdown with the opponent to their left, but the opponent may choose to decline that showdown if there are at least 3 players left in the game. The initiator of the showdown loses the round if there is a tie.
Hand Rankings
In AK47, the individual cards are ranked in the standard descending order, starting with Ace as the highest value card and ending with 2 as the lowest value card (A>K>Q>J>10>9>8>7>6>5>4>3>2). The game first evaluates and compares the category of the hand each player holds, before looking at the rank of the individual cards. If both the category and the individual cards are equal, a tie is declared.
The strongest hand consists of 3 cards of the same rank, with AAA being the best possible hand. Next follow 3 consecutive cards of the same suit, with AKQ as the best hand. Next, 3 consecutive cards of different suits, once again with AKQ as the best hand. Next, 3 cards of the same suit but not in sequence, then 2 cards of the same rank. The lowest ranking hand is the high card hand, which does not belong to any of the sets above.

Theme & Graphics
AK47 comes across as a fairly standard online card-themed game, featuring an elegant green felt table with a charming dealer overseeing the action at the opposite side. Your opponents' faces are displayed in small circle icons around the table, and the game has no background music. Instead, you get simple soundbites when cards are dealt, winning chips are awarded, or similar. The animations are smooth, keeping the pace even, and the winner is duly celebrated with bells and whistles.
AK47 Free Play
Understanding the rules up front is a good idea if you want to avoid making costly mistakes, but only reading about the game is not enough. You need first-hand experience to truly understand how things work, which is why we offer the free AK47 demo at the top of this review page. You can head up there and play as much as you want with no risk. Also, keep in mind that once your AK47 free play session is over, casinos carrying this game are listed below the demo game.

Our Verdict
Although I mostly prefer slot games these days myself, I used to play a lot of online poker back in the day when it was all the rage. Admittedly, I have never tested this Indian variant before, but I certainly had a good time with it. I like that you can choose from different poker rooms too, each with different minimum entries and pool limits. This ensures that AK47 caters to different types of players with different risk appetites.
My favorite poker variant was always Texas Hold ‘Em, so it took a while to get used to the lack of community cards in AK47, which makes it a completely different game overall. With a tad less focus on strategy, it’s more up to Lady Luck in this game. However, you need to consider which hands are worth playing, which is the most important choice you make each round, just like in regular poker.
In AK47, you even need to consider whether to see your own hand or not, as playing blind has some strategic advantages. It forces opponents to pay double the current bet if they have chosen to see their cards, which may convince them to fold if their hand is not all that strong. This also builds a larger pot if your opponents choose to stay in it. However, it’s a high-risk, high-reward strategy, since you have no idea about the strength of your own hand.
Fans of 3-card poker and Teen Patti will most likely also enjoy AK47, not least since every ace, king, 4, and 7 can transform your hand into a winner. Overall, I find that this poker variant offers a finely tuned balance between strategy and luck, with the 4 wild cards making each round all the more unpredictable. Playing blind is one heck of a gamble, but deliciously satisfying when you rake in a large pot with a winning hand.
