Pocket Ace arrived in March 2026 from Microgaming. There are 1,024 ways across its five reels, with four symbols showing on each one. RTP comes in at 96.03% and the game sits in the medium volatility range. Bets can be as low as 0.10 or as high as 125, with wins topping out at 2,000x.

Everything is set around a green card table. Aces, Kings, Queens and Jacks make up the first group of symbols, with the four card suits below them. The payouts aren't particularly large on their own. Five Aces, for example, are worth 2.5x per way. The two Jokers are Wilds, despite looking different, and the gold coin works as the Scatter.

Most spins are quite straightforward until a win lands. Those symbols are then cleared from the grid and replaced, which gives you another chance to connect something. This continues for as long as new wins appear. The multiplier changes at the same time, going from 1x to 2x, 3x and eventually 5x. I think this works well with the 1,024-ways setup, as a single spin isn't always finished when the first combination pays.

When reels 2, 3 or 4 turn gold, the regular symbols on them become Golden Symbols. Any Golden Symbol involved in a win is removed, with a Joker Wild appearing in its position for the next cascade. That interaction is more interesting than the card theme itself, especially when it happens partway through a longer cascade.

There is more going on outside the regular spins. Three Scatters are enough to reach the Free Games, and Ace Streak offers another way of playing through 15 automatic spins. The latter also introduces the Golden Wave. We'll cover both in more detail with the other features below.

Pocket Ace Features

Pocket Ace doesn't have a huge list of separate bonus features. Most of them work around the cascades, Gold Reels and the multiplier. Free Games raise the multiplier values, while Ace Streak does something different with the three middle reels.

Cascades and Combo Multiplier

A win clears the symbols that formed it and another set drops into the empty positions. If there's another win, the reels drop again. This can continue several times from the same paid spin.

The multiplier changes as the sequence gets longer:

• 1x on the initial win
• 2x on the next cascade
• 3x after that
• 5x at the highest level

When no new win appears, that's the end of the sequence. The next spin starts over at 1x.

Gold Reels and Golden Symbols

Gold Reels can show up on reels 2, 3 and 4. Any regular icons on them become Golden Symbols, and this also applies to new symbols dropping in during a cascade.

Their payouts don't change just because they're gold. What matters is what happens when one wins. The Golden Symbol is removed and a Joker Wild takes over that position for the next drop. Red and blue Jokers have the same job and can replace all regular symbols, but not the Scatter.

Free Games

Three or more coin Scatters give you 10 Free Spins. I noticed one useful difference straight away: the multiplier doesn't go back to the usual 1x starting point.

During Free Games, the four levels are: 2x, 4x, 6x and 10x.

You can get additional Free Spins while the round is running. Scatters also stay where they are during cascades instead of disappearing with the winning symbols.

Ace Streak

Ace Streak runs for 15 automatic spins and is where the Golden Wave comes into the game. A full Gold Reel can first appear on reel 4. From there, it doesn't stay put.

After each spin, the Golden Wave moves one position to the left. It goes from reel 4 to reel 3 and then reel 2, before moving off the grid. I found this easier to follow in play than it sounds on paper, since you can actually see the gold reel working its way across the screen.

The Golden Wave doesn't necessarily end when another feature begins. Trigger Free Games while it's active and its current position carries over into those Free Spins.

Theme & Graphics

Pocket Ace stays close to a classic card-game look. The reels sit over a green table, with playing cards used for nearly all the regular symbols. Even the two Jokers fit naturally here, although their red and blue designs give the screen a bit more colour.

Visually, the game is fairly simple and I think that suits it. There isn't much happening in the background to pull attention away from the reels. The bigger changes come when a Gold Reel appears. Its symbols switch to gold, making it easy to see which ones can leave a Joker Wild behind after a win. Cascades are quick as well, so several drops don't make the game feel slow.

The sound follows the same approach. Card-game effects and short win sounds do most of the work, rather than a heavy soundtrack. Overall, Pocket Ace looks more like a modern take on a traditional card slot than a game built around an elaborate theme.

Our Verdict

Pocket Ace turned out to have more going on than its simple card-table design first suggests. The cascades are a good fit for the increasing multiplier, especially when Golden Symbols are involved and start leaving Joker Wilds behind. I also liked that Free Games don't introduce a completely separate set of rules. Instead, they take the same idea and push the multiplier up to 10x.

Ace Streak is probably the more unusual part of the game. Watching the Golden Wave move from reel 4 towards reel 2 gives those 15 spins their own character, and the fact that it can carry over into Free Games is a nice detail. The 2,000x maximum win is quite modest compared with many newer slots, though, and the card theme itself doesn't offer many surprises.
