Disco Balls is played with a ball machine and 20 numbered balls. The main objective is simple – predict which number will be drawn. Players can bet on any individual number from 1 to 20, or cover several numbers through the side betting options.

The game allows you to bet on groups such as Low, High, Even, and Odd. Low covers numbers from 1 to 10, and High covers numbers from 11 to 20. Even and Odd options, well, cover even and odd numbers, respectively.

Once the betting phase ends, the ball machine draws the balls. If your selected number or group bet covers the result, the win is paid according to the multiplier setup. The main twist is that Evolution’s Disco Balls does not rely only on fixed number payouts. Random multipliers can be assigned throughout the game round, and the multiplier ladders progress during play.

There are also bonus numbers in the mix. If one of them is drawn, players can take part in the Disco or VIP Disco Bonus games, which is where the game moves beyond the regular lottery-style draw and the real party begins.

For regular bets, the optimal theoretical RTP is 96.08%. The maximum payout achievable on the Disco Balls by Evolution is capped at €500,000, and if the maximum bet is placed, the RTP drops to 95.25% because of that cap.

Disco Cat Phase

After the betting time ends, the Disco Cat appears with a pile of disco balls in the bottom left corner of the screen and randomly throws up to 4 multipliers across numbers 1 to 20 on the betting grid.

There are two multiplier types. Cat multipliers range from 3x to 20x, and Ball multipliers range from 3x to 10x. If the same number receives multiple boosts, the multiplier values add up. Numbers with Ball multipliers also receive an additional Ball multiplier each time the Disco Cat returns to assign more values to the grid.

The Disco Cat also assigns a Disco or a VIP Disco Bonus symbol to a randomly selected number on the grid, which becomes the Bonus number for that round. Bonus numbers may also receive a random Bonus game multiplier of up to 25x, which is then applied inside the bonus game.

Ball Draw

Once the initial multipliers are applied, the ball machine starts drawing balls one by one. The machine contains two types of balls: Step balls and Result balls.

Step balls are used to advance the multiplier ladders. There are two ladders – red for Odd numbers and gold for Even numbers. When a Step ball is drawn, it moves the matching ladder up by 1 or 2 levels, increasing the multiplier from 5x at the bottom all the way up to 500x at the maximum level.

If a Step ball appears, the Disco Cat also returns to assign additional multipliers and Bonus symbols to random numbers on the betting grid. The game continues until the ball machine draws a Result ball.

Result balls, in turn, determine the winning number of the round and are marked with numbers from 1 to 20. If the first ball drawn is a Result ball, a 5x multiplier is applied.

If that number matches your bet, you win. If the winning number is a Bonus number, the game proceeds to the corresponding bonus game. The multipliers collected during the main round are carried over to that bonus instead. All players can watch the bonus game, but only players who placed a bet on the winning Bonus number can participate and win.

Disco And VIP Disco Bonus Games

The mechanics are identical in both versions of the bonus, but the playing field is different. Disco takes place on a 37-square dance floor, while VIP Disco uses a larger 63-square dance floor.

The bonus begins with Mr. Funky standing in the middle of the dance floor, while the presenter controls the action from the DJ booth. A wheel is spun to determine Mr. Funky’s next move, with possible directions going up, down, left, or right. The bonus continues until Mr. Funky falls off the dance floor.

The dance floor contains two types of multiplier squares. Regular multipliers add directly to the total multiplier. In the Disco Bonus, initial Regular multiplier values range from 1x to 100x. In the VIP Disco Bonus, they can go from 1x to 500x. Floor multipliers double the values of 5 random Regular multiplier squares on the dance floor.

When Mr. Funky steps on a square and collects either a Regular or Floor multiplier, that square becomes empty for 2 consecutive moves. After that, it resets to the same multiplier type and value it had when the bonus started. Stepping on an empty square does nothing.

Multipliers collected during the main game round can also carry over to the bonus. Cat and Ball multipliers, as well as the final multiplier from the red or gold ladder, are added directly to the total multiplier. If the Bonus number received a multiplier during the main game, all Regular multipliers on the dance floor are multiplied by that value.

Disco Balls Theme & Interface

Theme-wise, Disco Balls is superb. It’s fun, stylish, and very easy to get into. Evolution Gaming fully leans into the disco concept here, with shiny balls, warm red and gold lighting, a dance floor, upbeat music, and, of course, Mr. Funky doing his thing. The Disco Cat deserves a special mention too. It’s such a small but memorable character detail, and it fits the game flawlessly.

What I liked most during my time with Evolution’s Disco Balls casino game were the presenters. They create lovely vibes, and everyone seems to have great moves. It’s honestly fun watching them dance together with Mr. Funky, and the music makes it hard to resist tapping your foot a little.

The studio is also designed very well. It has that proper disco-club energy, with mirrored balls, glowing lights, and a dance floor. The hosts are dressed appropriately too, with colourful red suits for men and bright dresses for women.

Evolution knows the business when it comes to live casino games, so the interface is expectedly very comfortable. You can adjust video quality, switch between several settings, and control different sound categories separately. There is also live chat, of course, where you can interact with the presenter and other players. The interface also shows useful game data, including the latest winning results and statistics.

The bonuses are great too. Watching Mr. Funky move across the dance floor is genuinely fun, especially when the multipliers start stacking. The whole thing feels like a party.
