Lightning Roulette is an Evolution Gaming innovation where 1 to 5 numbers are “struck by lightning”. The game is similar to regular European roulette, but the randomly chosen “lightning numbers” get boosted with multipliers between 50x and 500x each round. The regular straight up bet rewards have been reduced somewhat to fund this feature, but the overall RTP is still 97.3 %.

The roulette wheel in the live studio is fully automated via compressed air mechanics, so the live host can concentrate fully on keeping you entertained with his/her commentary. The regular straight up bets pay 30x here, which is a reduction from the 35x payouts you find on regular roulette. This is how the exciting lightning wins are funded, and as you’ve probably figured out by now, the word lightning in the title does not indicate speed.

If anything, the pace of this game is slower than regular roulette, as you need to wait for the random selection of the lightning numbers each round. The max win potential is 500x your stake, and you can place bets between 20p and £5,000 per round. It’s only the straight up bet payouts that have been altered here however, as all outside bets pay the same as usual for European roulette:
