The presentation can be seen as a tad generic as well, it all depends, and everything revolves around cloning mystery symbols. They take on a life of their own when they appear, slowly but surely filling reels while revealing random matching pay symbols along the way. This strange “organism” can even survive through bonus rounds (under certain conditions), where the mystery reels never reset.

The premium symbols pay between 5 and 20 x your stake for 7 of a kind wins, and winning combos can start from any reel and they pay both ways as long as at least 3 matching symbols line up on a payline. There are no wild symbols in this game, but the win system sort of compensates for that anyway.

Mystery Chest symbols can land on all 7 reels, and these symbols always lock in place on the positions they appear. A randomly chosen matching symbol will then be revealed by all present chests, and the mystery chests clone themselves one position per spin until the whole reel is covered. The mystery chest reel is removed on the spin that follows the final full-reel reveal, at least in the base game.

The Bonus Round triggers when you land 3 scatters in view, and this awards 10 free spins. Any mystery chests active on the triggering spin are carried over into the feature, and all mystery chest reels become locked in place for the remainder of the bonus round. This means reels will keep being turned into mystery reels as the feature progresses. Any mystery chests that haven't covered a full reel when the feature ends are carried over into the base game.

The biggest mystery with Majestic Mysteries Power Reels is the weak potential. When you throw around terms like “power” in the title people tend to expect a bit more than a mediocre 2,499x potential. This is not least the case when you compare it to some of the previous installments in this Red Tiger series, and even a 5,000x potential would have been far more acceptable and motivating. The Red Tiger math model oddities are nothing new, however.

Why Red Tiger keeps insisting on ‘shooting themselves in the foot’ like this remains a mystery to us, and probably many others. The gameplay is kind of entertaining though, albeit a tad generic and repetitive too, but the mystery chests become like an alien organism. They clone themselves in and out of bonus rounds, and when reels are filled up interesting things can happen. Not as interesting as we would’ve preferred though, but still worth a spin or ten.
