Snowborn Games has seen solid success with Masters of Valhalla, so it’s not surprising that they start the new year of 2023 with a follow-up release. Which pantheon of deities you prefer may bias you towards one or the other of these two releases, and Masters of Olympus follows closely in the footsteps of the predecessor. It’s not a reskin job, however, as you get a brand new base game feature, as well as some other changes.

The extra wilds respins round has been replaced by a walking expanded wild respins feature, and it can wreak havoc once in a while when it triggers. You get to meet plenty of Greek gods in the hold and win Bonus Round, and a few new special symbols have been added to the mix. We have to admit that we enjoyed the visuals in Masters of Valhalla more than what you get in Masters of Olympus. That being said, this is still a strong follow-up release that’s well worth checking out, and not least if you enjoyed the previous game. The wild respins feature comes with walking wilds this time, instead of up to 19 extra wilds, and both features have their merit. Once again, we lean towards the original game though, but that can be chalked up as personal preference.

Both installments revolve around the Money Train-inspired hold and win respins round, but you get more special symbols in this follow-up. The guaranteed Athena bonus buy option is also new, although non-UK players can purchase 2 tiers of the bonus round also in the original game. The feature can be good fun when you get plenty of special symbols action, but it can also fizzle out with a whimper many times. Overall, Masters Of Olympus is well worth checking out, not least if you enjoy a streak respins round with plenty of extras.
