Book of Sam follows the charming creatures on their holiday to Las Vegas, and the neon-infused setting is far more engaging than the forest and beach settings in predecessor installments. ELK is, quite literally, going to town with the cliches this overused theme usually displays, and the troll kids seem to enjoy the artifacts in their own special way. You get 3 different troll modifiers in all stages of the game at random times, and they hit more often in the expanding symbols bonus round. The 10,000x potential is twice the average for the ‘book of’ genre, but the top-tier 94 % RTP is sadly a deal-breaker for many players.

You’re basically whisked away into a magic world of excitement from the get-go, and the Electric Treat feature keeps you guessing during base game play.

Getting up to 3 expanding symbols from the start in the bonus round is an interesting twist as well, but you will get only 1 from 3 scatters most of the time. The multiplier can help out either way, and the electric treat modifier seemed to trigger more frequently during the feature. It all adds up to a highly enjoyable and unusual book slot experience, and it’s definitely refreshing compared to yet another dusty Egyptian tomb.
