You’re taken inside a spaceship somewhere in deep space in this game, and the monsters are hidden as the game starts. You need to collect winning symbols to unlock the monsters one by one, and this levels up the game permanently each time.

You get a bonus round per level up as well, and it’s known as the Collector Bonus. It’s basically a hold and win style feature with cash prize and trigger symbols, and each unlocked monster will unleash their respective modifier when its trigger symbol lands. The base game doesn’t come with too many features, and you need a bit of patience to get the most out of this game. You need at least 7 matching symbols anywhere in view to win, and this awards between 1 to 4 x your stake. In the upper end, you win between 50 and 300 x your stake from 15+ matching symbols anywhere in view, and there are no Wild symbols in this game. The premium symbols, which resemble planets, are also found as MaxSymbols in a bar above the main grid.

Winning combinations activates the relevant MaxSymbol in the MaxSymbols bar, and all activated symbols are collected in a progress meter. You need to fill the progress meter to unlock the monsters that are found below the main grid, and this also triggers the Collection Bonus for each level up. The progress bar is saved between bet levels, which is something to keep in mind.

This game comes with 5 levels, and you escape level 0 when the first monster is unlocked. Each unlocked monster takes you up one level, and when all 5 monsters are unlocked you find yourself at level 5. Having an active MaxSymbol can also trigger the Random Symbol feature, and you will then see a UFO upgrade random symbols.

Completing the progress bar triggers the Collector Bonus each time, as already mentioned, and you start out with 3 spin “lives”. It’s a hold and win kind of bonus round, so the tally resets to 3 for each new non-blank symbol you land. You can land 2 different types of symbols in addition to blanks, and these are as follows:

• Multiplier Symbols - comes with a cash prize value of 2x to 5x.
• Activator Symbols - activates the modifier from the corresponding monster.

The monsters you have activated below the grid come with a unique modifier each, and these are as follows:

• The Framer - places random multiplier frames around random positions, and these will boost any multiplier symbol that lands in the framed position.
• The Payer - selects a random multiplier symbol, and applies it to all multiplier symbols in view.
• The Booster - boosts the value of one randomly selected multiplier symbol.
• The Collector - absorbs all multiplier prizes in view, and this becomes its value.
• The Mentalist - multiplies the lowest and highest multiplier symbols together.

You can purchase the bonus round directly via the Bonus Buy feature, but only if you find yourself in an eligible jurisdiction. This feature is not available in the UK for sure. If eligible, you can pay 75x, 100x, 150x, 200x, or 300x your stake for 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 active monsters in the feature, or pay 150x your stake for a random amount of active monsters. This can take some time, but it might be worth your while once you get there.

Getting there is kind of entertaining as well, and you will get lesser versions of the bonus round along the way, of course. There aren’t too many base game features though, but the monster modifiers can do serious damage in the bonus round. In fact, you can win up to 55,555x your stake in 5 Monsters, but that will most likely require that all 5 monsters are on their best behavior throughout the feature. 5 Monsters might not appeal to everyone, but some will find the progress system to be enjoyable and rewarding.
