Ashoka Eternal takes you out of the dense jungle environment of the original game, and we prefer the brighter temple setting you get in this sequel. Both are visually pleasing releases though, no doubt, and the spin pace and tempo of both games are excellent with the turbo switched on. The Cluster Pays win system has replaced the Scatter Pay Anywhere win system of the first game, which seems unnecessary in our view, but we get that ELK wants to experiment a bit and try to come up with something unique and new.

We liked the win multiplier system of the original game better than what you get here, and it can be frustrating when the multiplier is not active. We almost get the sense that ELK has struggled a bit to find something to change, and the implemented changes do not really enhance the experience. Rather the opposite to be honest, and the 25,000x potential, while solid, remains the same. The same goes for the 94 % RTP, which is a pain point for many players, so we’ll probably stick with the original despite the darker and less pleasing presentation.
