The RTP of this game is about as average as they come, and there is not much else to say about that. Medium volatility makes this a good allround game that should suit most anyone, except perhaps the most hardcore high rollers who want even higher payout potential.

Shogun of Time starts out with 4 reels and 81 paylines, but this changes quickly in both the re-spin feature and the free spins feature. The theme is a strange blend of the ancient feudal Japan and the hypermodern futuristic Tokyo. To drive home the time travelling point, one heroine of the game is an ancient Samurai, while the other is a futuristic cyberpunk.

This is a Just for the Win title, but it’s published in collaboration with Microgaming. In the bonus features a fifth reel opens up like a “time machine” in the middle, and the paylines are expanded from 81 to 243. Visually, the game looks pretty good, and the blending of ancient and futuristic works pretty well also. Not a bad title, but perhaps not the best we’ve seen from JFTW.

Shogun of Time is not a very complicated game, and some might even perceive the fifth bonus reel as sheer laziness from the developers side. It works okay in our opinion, but it’s not exactly inventing the wheel either.

The time travelling theme works out ok too, but they could perhaps have elaborated on it a bit more. The 2 bonus features come with expanded paylines, and with the stacked wild in the free spins feature you can win some decent payouts.
