Andrew Crosby, Head of Account Management at Relax Gaming

Hi Andrew! We’re honoured to have you as our guest in our interview series. Please introduce yourself and Relax Gaming to our readers.

I’m glad to be here. Sure! I joined Relax Gaming in September 2017 and helped set up the commercial operation in Malta where I was the first person working in our office in St Julians, we now have around 30 people working in the Malta office. When I first started I don’t think many people had ever heard of Relax gaming but two years down the line I think we have established ourselves as a great partner to work with.

I believe we have a great team behind our games and most of them are real slot players who understand what it takes to create an exciting game for other players.

Yeah, you’ve accomplished a lot in two years. What do you think is the reason behind your success?

The company was built on technology that is not only agile but also built for the purposes it is used for today. Having this solid base the platform is stable and easy to use for operators and suppliers who use it. We also have a great development team who support the platform building stable products that are used immensely throughout the industry. We also put the customer first and strive to make all our customers happy.

You have definitely succeeded with that, especially in Sweden according to our SlotRank where you have a lot of high ranked titles. Which title is your personal favourite?

My favourite Relax production is Temple Tumble Megaways, not only is it massively successful on our network but it also presented the great Megaways mechanic in a way that had not been done before adding to its popularity. It was also the first game to offer different levels of volatility in the free spins game and I love the anticipation the block breaking gives during free spins. I also enjoyed working on exclusive productions at Mr Green which became very successful releases.

Temple Tumble Megaways is a great game, no doubt! And the Megaways mechanic is very popular at the moment. If we look beyond your own productions, which game providers would you say stand out in today’s industry?

I would say Nolimit City has been producing some very interesting slot content recently which have differing styles, mechanics and volatility which most slot players are looking for and being a slot player, its something I’m always looking for. Obviously, Big Time Gaming have amazing slots and I often find myself going back to play on games, whichever site I’m playing on. I think The Final Countdown was the slot that inspired me the most from BTG, also because Relax Gaming was chosen to launch the game for an exclusive period of time which gave me access to the game before anyone else :)

Fun, anticipation, excitement - these are the main points in slots. Players play games as a form of entertainment and if the slot is not entertaining whether it be the theme, mechanic or math then it’s not going to be a success.

Early access is a dream for all of us :) What would you say is the most important aspect of a game?

Fun, anticipation, excitement - these are the main points in slots. Players play games as a form of entertainment and if the slot is not entertaining whether it be the theme, mechanic or math then it’s not going to be a success.

That’s true. Now when I have you here I would like to hear why should players choose your games?

I believe we have a great team behind our games and most of them are real slot players who understand what it takes to create an exciting game for other players. Not only they are a great team but they have been behind some of the most successful slot releases in the industry. Every game we release has a different feel, look, math, mechanics and theme which makes each next product interesting not only for the players but also for myself who has to present these games to the operators.

That makes sense. With so many releases these days it seems even more crucial to keep each release unique, which it feels like you have really succeeded with.

Let’s talk about the future. What are your predictions for the iGaming industry going forward?

Without going into the regulated landscape and tax regimes. It is always hard to predict gaming’s future but I always say that Blackjack, Roulette and Slot games have been around a lot longer than me and I’m sure their popularity will continue for a very long period of time. People often overuse the word innovation but someone will come along with new slot math or a new variant of table game and that’s most likely to be the next big thing. When it comes to Relax Gaming we need to keep up with the great work we’ve done so far…

You’re definitely on the right path and it seems your success will just grow if you keep releasing quality games as you have up to this point. Is there anything you would like to say to our readers before we say goodbye?

Relax is a growing company and we hope to carry on pleasing the industry with our new games, reliable and agile platform, Account Management, Marketing and the overall Relax Gaming Team!
