Well, it's not essentially unknown territory for Evoplay, as they already have some experience in the genre. The first take on the penalty format was back in 2020 when the developers released a game called Penalty Shoot Out, and the newer title actually offers a similar experience. It's not a straight-up copy though but it follows pretty much the same concept.

While the design hasn't undergone a lot of changes, the Penalty Series slot offers more diverse gameplay, as well as offers more opportunities to win for the players. While the older slot offered you to perform penalty kicks and beat the goalkeeper, this one alternates the roles. Now, players play as both an attacker and goalie.

To start, you need to select a bet from €1 to €2,400 per round. Each game round consists of 6 shots - you have to attack the opponent's goal first, and then defend yours. This is where the game requires some clicking. There are 3 different kick zones displayed, and you need to guess where to hit the ball to get past the goalkeeper. When defending, in turn, you need to guess where the opponent will hit. You can also always rely on the Random button to make the game choose for you. If you guess correctly, you win and have an opportunity to cash out or go on for bigger prizes. Should you make a wrong move though, the round will end and your bet will be lost

With each successful shot or defense, the winning multiplier grows. It starts at 1.92x at the first shot and increases by 2x with each consecutive win, up to 61.44x the stake. More than that, you can score additional prizes with the Side Bets feature. Even if you lose in the main round, you can still win on the additional bets. They include five different options as follows:

• Combo Ticket - guess the outcome of the entire round to win 61.44x the bet.
• 3 Attacks - hit the goal three times to win 7.68x the bet.
• 3 Defenses - defend your goal three times to win 7.68x the bet.
• Any 4 - make any four successful hits to win 2.79x the bet.
• Any 5 - make any five successful hits to win 8.78x the bet.
