Wilds can land anywhere on the grid, but they hold no value of their own. Instead, they step in for all regular pay symbols, as wilds usually do, and they can also be spawned in the Wild Generation Zone. If a symbol on the top row is part of a winning combo, a wild is generated in the empty space.

Wilds are removed if part of a winning combo, just like any regular symbol. This is due to the Cascading Wins feature, which removes all winning symbols from the grid. New and/or existing symbols drop down from above to fill the gaps, and the process repeats as long as you keep winning.

The Bonus Round is triggered whenever you land at least 3 scatters anywhere in sight in a single cascading sequence. Following in the footsteps of Pyramid: Quest for Immortality, Parthenon: Quest for Immortality comes with a more modern audiovisual presentation. This is something NetEnt usually does well, so no surprise there really. What is a bit surprising is the lower potential, but at least you have a bonus round to look forward to in this sequel.

The base game is very much a grind that leads nowhere most of the time, and it can take a good while to get to the bonus round. The wild generation zone becomes a lot more interesting with the increasing multiplier, but NetEnt needs to up their game significantly if they want to take back their former ‘leading edge position’ from top-trending developers such as NoLimit City.
