The Joker series from Play’n Go has come a long way since it was made popular by Fire Joker, and Love Joker is the 12th installment. Ironic Joker would have been a more fitting title however, as the jester wears a facial expression a wannabe playboy might take on as he approaches a lady he knows deep down is way out of his league. We’re unsure if the joker is a man or a woman though, and this is hardly a release we fell in love with.

The 3x3 base game grind is a barebones classic fruit machine experience with no extras, and 50x your stake is the most you can hope for from a single spin. The Love Spins feature is a hold-and-win style game, and it’s all about collecting hearts to increase your prize and/or double the prize values. The 1,008x potential is not exactly attractive either, but this is okay for a casual and uncomplicated gaming session.

The ironic expression the Love Joker constantly puts up is probably how you would look if you had to force yourself to say that you like this game, although it might go down better with certain players than it did with us. The hold-and-won concept performs better on a larger grid in general, but the heart collecting system is somewhat clever.
