Skyrocket Studios is a brand new developer whose ambition is to deliver up to 20 branded slots each year. First out is American Gods, based round the Amazon Prime fantasy drama by the same name, and the TV series, as well as this branded slot effort, revolves around the epic battle between the Old Gods and the New Gods.

The Old Gods Free Spins feature gives you 10, 12 or 15 spins for 3, 4 or 5 scatters, respectively, and the feature starts with a spin on the Prize Wheel. This turns a random pay symbol wild for the duration of the feature, and it’s added to the left-hand side Wild Collection Panel. Review Summary

A larger and more experienced studio would probably do more with the visual presentation than what Skyrocket has done in this slot version of American Gods, but getting the branded license was probably not cheap. The static thunderstorm backdrop, as well as the static character symbols, doesn’t exactly scream blockbuster budget, but it might be enough for fans of the popular TV series.

The feature department is jam packed however, and we like the “yin/yang symmetry” that allows you to get a small taste of the bonus round you didn’t choose. The 4 base game features triggers on a regular basis to keep you warm, and the more rare Mega Bonus is probably your best bet at cracking the decent 4,800x potential. The well put together features kind of saves the day, making this a worthwhile game that otherwise would be for diehard fans only.
