The base game reel has only 2 outcomes, you either lose the bet or you land the Bonus Wheel symbol. Landing the Bonus Wheel in the middle triggers the Bonus Wheel feature, and a nudge feature may help you out at random times. The Bonus Wheel is the game’s only feature, and it plays out on a new screen.

The Bonus Wheel consists of 8 segments, 4 of which are losing segments. It has 3 smaller prize winning segments, as well as the sole golden top-prize segment. The first Bonus Wheel gives you a 75 % chance of winning, while the subsequent Bonus Wheels come with a 50 % chance of winning. This is indicated by the smaller winning segments on those wheels.

If you land on a prize segment, the Bonus Wheel is upgraded with increased prizes. You can choose to collect your winnings, or take your chances with another spin. If you land on the golden top prize segment on any wheel, the following wheel will come with even better prizes. We would go so far as to say that Viral Spiral is not even a slot, at least not in any meaningful sense of the word. Without any paylines or win symbols, the only variable is how much you’ll have to pay to get to the bonus wheel each time. The nudge feature adds a sort of wild card to the mix, throwing you a bone here and there, but it can hardly get more barebones than what Red Tiger has achieved in this installment.

Despite the catchy name, we doubt this release will ever go viral. Once you’ve been kicked out of the sole bonus feature with nothing to show for it a few times, you’re bound to get fed up. The 3-tier bonus wheel feature just isn’t engaging enough to hold your interest over time, although the 5,000x top prize is admittedly decent. As a gimmick, this release works, but it will fade into obscurity rather quickly in our humble opinion.
