You need 3, 4 or 5 scatters in view to trigger the Bonus Round, and this awards 10, 15 or 20 free spins, respectively. A hook feature can trigger at random times when 2 scatters are in view, and it nudges a reel to bring up the all-important 3rd scatter. The Fisherman Wild serves double duty as the Collector symbol during the bonus round, and as a wild he steps in for pay symbols to help complete wins.

As a Collector, the fisherman wild collects all present cash fish prizes, and the wild symbol is then itself collected onto the Multiplier Trail above the grid. It seems Reel Kingdom first planned to release this as a regular installment in their ongoing range, but then decided to make it their Christmas contribution instead. A wise choice in our opinion, as Bigger Bass Blizzard - Christmas Catch is pretty similar to the original Bigger Bass Bonanza. The top-tier RTP, as well as the rest of the RTP settings, are lower though, so unless you love ice fishing the more tropical original is a better choice.

The Xmas theme was more elaborate in last year’s Christmas Big Bass Bonanza, but you get a higher 4,000x potential in this game. We like how you can collect all the cash prizes by landing 5-oak in the base game, but it doesn’t happen very often. The multiplier trail bonus round is the main attraction, as usual, but the big bass series is starting to saturate the whole genre to the point where we’ve gotten a little bit fed up.
