Twist (BC Originals) Game Review

Twist is a BC Originals game that breaks from regular slot games, offering a unique experience with 3 circular sections filled with bet multipliers. The canyon visuals are grayscale and simple, except for the colorful gems, with a lone mining cart sitting in the foreground. The focus is on the multiplier sections that get filled with the color of their corresponding gem.

You start by choosing a bet level between €0.01 and €10,000, and then you hit the ‘Play’ button to see which symbol appears at the center of the circle. If either of the 3 gems appears, one segment on the corresponding circle is filled, awarding the corresponding bet multiplier. When you reach the end segment of the circle of the green or orange gems, you win 7.5x or 21x your stake, respectively.

The segments do not reset, however, and you continue to win these amounts each time you hit a new green or orange gem. Landing a dark gem means you lose the round and there is no progress or payout. The dark stone is also a losing symbol, but in addition, it takes you back one segment on all 3 circles. In other words, you only win when you land a green, orange, or purple gem.

Getting all the way to the end of the purple gem circle triggers the bonus game in Twist, where you can win bet multiplier prizes of up to 500x your stake. However, 205x is deducted from your bankroll after the bonus round is over, which means it’s possible to lose money from this feature. Since the lowest bonus prize is 100x, you can lose up to 105x your stake. The game’s max win is 500x your stake, and the RTP is 96 %.

In a somewhat unusual “twist,” the bet multiplier sum of all the purple sections (205x) is deducted from your bankroll after the bonus round. This means you must win at least the 300x prize to profit from the feature. In other words, you have an equal chance of winning or losing money in the Twist bonus round.

Our Verdict

Twist has taken off amongst streamers and YouTubers, probably due to its simple and engaging gameplay. BC Originals has definitely “twisted” the online slot concept into something different with this release, and it’s admittedly quite fun to play. It’s good fun filling up the sections and winning bet multipliers, and it’s also a perfect game to play on the go.

The more progress you make, the more you win each time one of those colorful gems appears. However, the stone symbol rolls you back one step per section, and this can, of course, be frustrating at times. I’m more into regular video slots myself, but I still found Twist to be a fascinating little gem that I may return to once in a while.

The bonus round was a bit of a headscratcher though, as it’s a bit strange that you can end up with a significant loss when you finally get there. It can take a good while to fill all the purple sections after all, and I prefer to be rewarded from a bonus game, not potentially punished. This is a strange choice by BC Originals, to be honest, and you may consider cashing out before you get to the bonus game.

That being said, you are often handsomely rewarded in the main game, with plenty of bet multiplier action to keep you going. It’s also a plus that this is a provably fair game, and it’s perfect for those who like to gamble with crypto. Overall, Twist comes across as a highly original and exciting game, but you need to know what you’re getting yourself into before playing for real money.
