You win by landing matching symbols from left to right, and these must connect either horizontally, vertically or diagonally. The premium symbols pay between 1.5 and 3 x your stake for 5 of a kind, and the core function of the wild symbols is to step in for pay symbols to help complete or improve wins. Wilds pay the same as the top-tier pumpkin symbol.

Wild symbols with a counter on them are not removed via the Cascading mechanic together with the winning symbols. Instead, their counter is decreased by -1, and new and/or existing symbols fall down to fill the gaps. This process repeats as long as you keep winning, or until there are no more removable symbols.

You can land Weather symbols of different kinds, and these trigger Tornado, Lightning, Rain, Earthquake, Fire (bonus round only) and Frost modifiers. Each weather symbol forms a specific pattern of wild transformations, and if a wild symbol is affected its counter is increased by +1 each time. The counter serves double duty as both a multiplier and an indicator of how many times the wild can be used before being removed by the cascading mechanic.

You need at 3 scatters in view to trigger the Bonus Round, and this gives you 6 free spins. Any additional triggering scatters above the minimum of 3 awards +1 extra spin on top of that. Positions that are transformed into wilds are marked off on the mini grid on the left-hand side, and the first Weather symbol you land transforms all marked positions into wilds. A multiplier increases by +1 each time a position is marked after the first time, and you get +1 extra spin per bonus scatter you land.

The colorful cartoonish visuals charmed us from the get-go, and the animated scarecrow is a funny one as well. We had a very good time with Wild Yield, and the weather symbol wild transformation system livens up the base game on a regular basis. The wild counter system with a decreasing multiplier is a somewhat clever innovation as well, although some players might prefer wilds that increase their multipliers instead.

At least the wilds can stay active longer this way, and everything comes to a head in the bonus round. The positions just keep getting more and more valuable as you increase the multipliers, and it can be really tempting to go for the extra spins feature. Not much happens without the crucial weather symbol though, and it can get expensive real quick. It’s a highly intense feature for sure, and it’s best to tread carefully when engaging with it.
