Slingo Originals advertises Slingo Super Spin as the “grooviest Slingo game yet”, and a quick glance at the back catalog is enough to convince us that this is indeed the case. The retro disco style, complete with a small DJ booth in the corner, is accompanied by a funky and engaging soundtrack. A slingo is formed when you mark off numbers on the 5x5 grid that completes a vertical, horizontal and/or diagonal line. You start with 10 spins per paid round, and you need at least 4 slingos to reach the first tier on the prize ladder that actually pays. Of course, the higher you go, the better prizes you will win, and there are a few bonus features that can help you out in that regard.

Landing a Wild symbol on the slot reel below the grid allows you to mark off any position you want on the row directly above the wild. The gold disc Super Wild allows you to mark off any position you want on the entire grid, and a Super Wild is generated if the number in the Super Spin Reel matches a number on the regular reel.

We quite enjoyed the 70s disco vibe strutting its stuff in Slingo Super Spin, and we like how the extra Super Spin Reel is connected to the regular reels by a retro record player. It’s a refreshing installment in several ways, but the regular top prize is only 250x your stake. The volatility is on the lower end of the spectrum though, and the extra 6th reel position can be quite helpful in each round.

Not only does it allow you to mark off more positions, but the duplicate number Super Wild generation is also a clever twist. Winning truly big can only happen if you fill all positions with wilds and/or super wilds though, but the 5,000x prize is far from easy to land. Still, it’s encouraging to know that the possibility is always there, and different jackpot concepts is something we hope to see more of in future releases.
