We have visited Olympus more than a few times in the world of online slots, and RabCat doesn’t really impress us with the presentation they’ve come up with for Arena of Gods - Rise of Medusa. Zeus is posing on the right-hand side, flexing his massive chest, and you can catch a glimpse of his temple rising out of the cloud in the background.

The reels are filled with weapon symbols, a 2-headed dragon, and the Minotaur is the top-tier pay symbol. Medusa is the wild symbol, and when she lands fully stacked the Duel Reels feature triggers. This is the only bonus feature you get, and it’s a walking wild feature with an increasing wild multiplier. The wild explodes to provide regular wilds in the end, and you can win up to 5,970x your stake.

The wild multiplier increases by +1 per move, and it explodes to provide 3 to 5 regular wilds spread across reels 2 to 5 when it reaches the leftmost reel. Landing 3 regular wilds on the same reel retriggers the feature, and it ends when the Medusa Wild hits reel 1.

Review Summary

RabCat doesn’t release new slots all that often, and they usually pour their heart and soul into each production. We can’t say that this seems to be the case with Arena of Gods - Rise of Medusa, however, and perhaps this is them ramping up the production schedule? The visuals are not really convincing, and the Zeus dude on the right looks like something an amateur could produce on his home computer.

We also can’t imagine it took too long to come up with the core feature for this game, as expanded walking wilds with an increasing multiplier is hardly innovative stuff. The wild explosion in the end is a decent touch though, but overall there is a lackluster vibe emanating from this release. We know that RabCat can do a whole lot better than this, and Arena of Gods - Rise of Medusa is hardly going to help this developer get more mainstream recognition.
