Pragmatic Play is no stranger to the money collector concept, and the popular Wild Wild Riches is their most successful effort thus far, in that regard. Treasure Wild is a rather simple installment in the genre, where wilds collect the value from all money symbols that land on the same base game spin.

Set in a medieval treasury overflowing with gold coins, the cartoonish visual presentation gets the job done without being anything spectacular. The big highlight is the bonus round, where money symbols accumulate in a treasure chest. You need wilds to collect the treasure however, and this can lead to frustration when you’re out of luck.

The treasure chest Wild steps in for all regular pay symbols, and it’s also worth the same as the top-tier jeweled crown symbol. Landing 5 on a payline thus awards 15x your stake, and landing wilds together with Money symbols collects all the respective cash values during base game play.

The golden Money symbols land with values of 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x, 2.5x, 4x, 5x, 7.5x, 10x, 20x and 50x your stake, and you win the total value of all present money symbols multiplied by the number of collector wilds you land on the same spin.

You trigger the Bonus Round when you land at least 5 money symbols on the same base game spin, and this awards 9 free spins. The value of the triggering money symbols is collected up front, and you can see it displayed on the floating chest to the right.

Wilds award the currently accumulated treasure value each time they land, and there is no way to retrigger the feature. Review Summary

There is a half-baked feeling hanging over this release that we usually don’t get from Pragmatic Play titles. The wild collector money symbol concept is similar to the Fishin Frenzy saga, but this game would have stuck out more if the idea was lifted to a new level also in the base game. As it stands now, you get mostly occasional top-up wins on your way to the more or less all-important bonus round.

Building up a decent treasure chest value, only to get zero wilds to collect the loot, is not only frustrating, but it’s something you’ll see happen on a regular basis. On lucky days you will land multiple wilds for larger payouts though, but the relatively solid 4,500x potential is probably not enough to stop this release from drowning in the swamp of mediocracy.
