The rural vibe is strengthened by the wooden reel set, and the game centers around the Strike Respins feature with progressive multiplier wilds. This feature prolongs the bonus round indefinitely, and can lead to combined multiplier boosts up to 9x. For us “city slickers”, it can be a nice break to relax with a game like this, and the mid-level volatility will usually not be too brutal on your bankroll either.

The thunderbird totem is the wild symbol in this game, and it can land on the 3 middle reels only. It will step in for all regular pay symbols, like wilds usually do, and the Call feature can add 5 to 9 wilds to the reels at random times.

In addition, you have a Strike Respins feature, and this will upgrade all wilds to Thunder Wilds. The wilds then become sticky on the reels, and you get respins. The Thunder Wilds come with a multiplier that starts at 1x, and increases with +1 for each respin. When a Thunder Wild has reached a 3x multiplier, it will be removed from the reels.

If more than 1 Thunder Wild is part of the same winning combo, the multiplier values are added together. This means up to 9x multiplier boosts at the most, and landing new Thunder Wilds on a respin will extend the feature. The Strike Respins feature only ends when there are no more Thunder Wilds present on the reels.

You will get 5 Free Spins when you land the Dream Catcher scatter on reels 1, 3 and 5 on the same spin. All wilds that land will be Thunder Multiplier Wilds during the bonus round, and you’re guaranteed at least 1 Thunder Wild per free spin. This triggers the Strike Respins feature with progressive multiplier wilds at the end of the bonus round. This is the only extra spins you will get, as the free spins round cannot be retriggered.

Review Summary

Play’n Go is known for their rather insane productivity, and not all of the many titles they churn out every year will be major headliners. Thunder Screech is a competent game for sure, but it’s not extremely memorable. The native american vibe of mysticism is captured nicely in the eagle diving down towards the reel set, and the stats are pretty solid too.

The mid-level volatility makes this game more forgiving than many other Play’n Go titles with a 5,000x potential, but you’ll need to find the highest default RTP, of course. Multiplier wild Strike Respins offer the occasional base game thrill, while really stepping into the limelight in the bonus round. We don’t think the shelf-life of Thunder Screech is more than a couple of weeks to a month, but not all releases can be timeless classics.
