Dork Unit comes across almost like a TV show for kids that might have aired ages ago, but the decorated theater scene presentation did make a good impression on us at least.

The game revolves around 3 clowns, Tiny Timmy, Hefty Hector and Long Lenny, and different kinds of multiplier wilds play a central part in their show. You get 3 tiers of multiplier wilds in the base game, and these can also trigger a streak respins sticky wilds feature. The headliner is the Dork Spins bonus round though, where you may benefit from up to 3 sticky full-reel wilds with a clown multiplier that varies per spin.

Review Summary

Hacksaw has an interesting dualistic approach to their releases, as the themes are either on the bright and happy side, or dark and grim side, with no real gray area in between. The childish clown show presentation is kind of charming in Dork Unit, but the soundtrack came across as a tad annoying right off the bat. You can easily turn that off and keep the game sounds though, so it’s not really a huge deal.

The gift box multiplier wild system can land you solid base game wins, at least in theory, but you should expect plenty of dead spins in between. The Gift Bonanza twist on the regular hold-and-win style feature is actually quite enjoyable, as you get wild multipliers in abundance when you’re lucky. The bonus round with varying full-reel wild multipliers is not too shabby either, and the 10,000x potential is solid for a medium volatile release.
