Each corner of the 5x5 grid has 3 blocked symbol positions, which means that 12 symbol positions are blocked in total. When you land a winning combo, magic orbs fly from the winning symbols and unblock the same amount of blocker tiles. The gives you a respin, and the process goes on as long as you keep winning.

All the blockers reset when you don’t win anymore, but the real fun starts when you manage to open up the whole grid. The magic orbs from the winning symbols will then be collected by either the green elf or the female red elf. It was a massive hit game after all, and unlocking those reel positions feels kind of similar to unwrapping a Christmas present.

The soundtrack could not be more nostalgic and sentimental, and players having trouble getting into the proper Christmas spirit might benefit from this title. Visually, it’s not exactly up there with the best work from Yggdrasil, but this is understandable for a seasonal game. If you like the original game, you now have an alternative for the festive season.
