When King Arthur is gone, as he seems to be in Red Tiger’s Knights of Avalon, the knights that usually surround him may “dance on the Round Table”. More likely, however, they will do a bit of in-fighting, just to clear the air and perhaps re-establish a new pecking order. We’re not really sure Arthur is gone though, as he could be the top-tier knight in the shining golden armor. It’s hard to tell, as Red Tiger is not known for providing backstories, nor elaborate paytable info.

Anyway, you get solid medieval visuals, and the presentation comes across as a blending of the “new” and “old” Red Tiger styles. They have, as some players may know, released some unusual games (for them) lately, and you get an unusually solid 17,729x potential in Knights of Avalon. It revolves around the Knights Drop feature, which comes with multipliers up to x5 per knight in the bonus round. The in-fighting leads to symbol transformations in all stages of the game.

The knight premium symbols, of which there are 4, pay between 1 and 2.5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins. You can also land the golden lion Wild symbol anywhere, and it steps in for pay symbols to help complete and/or improve wins. Knights of Avalon is not a bad effort in that regard, and the symbol transformation is random. That is, symbols don’t even need to be adjacent to be transformed, while symbols surrounded by the dropped knights may not be transformed. The end result is that you will most likely land a decent win when this feature triggers.

We have seen far more brutal and elaborate duels on the reels in other games, so Knights of Avalon is not really as violent as it may sound. You basically get more of the same in the bonus round, where Knights Drop multipliers can take your winnings to a whole new level. The 17,729x potential is surprisingly high for being Red Tiger, although they have released a few bangers after their recent metamorphosis. Knights of Avalon is well worth checking out for its simple, yet effective, gameplay, but we doubt it will be a smash hit.
